The scope of the lecture topics for third year students of dental faculty MUS includes a series of the lectures related to the prevention, diagnosis, epidemiology, etiopathogenesis of caries. In the study attention was paid to the role of saliva, bacterial plaque and carbohydrates in the development of caries disease, which was classified occording to the extent and lacation. Basic issues in the area of oral cavity prevention in adult patients receiving care in conservative dentistry are also presented. Clinical issues have been introduced concerning the reconstruction work with the use of composite materials in clinical conditions. 

  1. The role of trace elements in the prevention and treatment of the initial caries.
  1. Classification of caries cavity detection and method for early caries detection.
  1. Dental prophylaxis.
  1. Methods of anxiety and pain relief and non-invasive methods of caries cavities preparation. 
  1. Human saliva and its role.
  1. Etopathigenesis of the caries.
  1. Aesthetic tooth correction - clinical treatment with composite materials. Characteristics of the composite materials.
