Basic rules of behaviour during the clinical classes- work safety regulations, asepsis and sterilization. Patients’ examination- demonstration by the teacher. Rules of ergonomic work in conservative dentistry and endodontics- repetitory and practice. Medical documentation. Caries diagnostic with regard to how advanced it is. Treatment of caries incipiens- techniques, materials. Rubber dam- demonstration, its importance in conservative and endodontic treatment; practice. Clinical aspects of cavities’ restoration: basic materials. Adhesive systems. Techniques of cavities’ filling.

General rules of conducting the endodontic therapy. Endodontic hand instruments. Endodontic anatomy and topography. Materials used in endodontic treatment. Chemical preparation of the root canals. Step-back and crown-down technique for root canal preparation. Techniques of root canal’s obturation (lateral condensation technique and continuous wave technique). Clinical classification, etiology, diagnostics of periapical tissues diseases in adult patients. X-ray diagnostics of periapical tissues. Protocol of therapy in case of both acute and chronic periapical tissues’ diseases. Emergencies in endodontics. Causes and treatment of external and internal tooth resorptions. Complications in endodontic therapy. Vertical root fracture. Reconstruction of the crown after endodontic treatment. Ultrasounds in endodontics. Endo-perio lesions- classification and treatment protocol.

Dental equipment- basic (unit), additional (diagnostic and therapeutic instruments), dental equipment characteristic for particular dental specialization (general dentistry, conservative dentistry with endodontics, prosthetics, dental surgery, periodontology). Pain in dentistry- diagnostics, differentiation, dental therapy in interdisciplinary team. Sequence and cooperation of dental specialists from different fields of dentistry (surgeon, prosthetist, specialist in conservative dentistry with endodontics and periodontist). Rules of implementation of prosthetic and/or conservative therapy after surgical procedures with regard to the condition of the operated region of oral cavity in adult patients.
